* Oven, Freezer, and Microwave: Porto Brasil Stoneware has high mechanical and thermal resistance. The recommended thermal variation is around 240°C. Porto Brasil Stoneware can be safely used in the oven, microwave, and freezer, provided the handling specifications are followed. As a precaution and to ensure safe use, avoid removing the product from the oven/microwave and placing it directly on a cold surface. The reverse is also true: do not take the product from the freezer and place it directly in the oven or microwave. Heat Transfer: The handles of the products may heat up during microwave use. Care should be taken when handling. Heating and cooling processes should be done gradually. Never use the product in direct contact with flame or any other direct heat source.
* Dishwasher: Porto Brasil Stoneware can be used in the dishwasher. Remove any excess food from the pieces and, if possible, rinse them before placing them in the dishwasher. Please refer to your dishwasher's owner manual for special loading instructions and wash settings. Be cautious not to overload the machine, as this could cause damage to the pieces.
* Does my Porto Brasil Stoneware scratch?
Ceramic glazes generally have a hardness superior to most metals used in the production of cutlery. What typically happens is not scratching, but rather wear from the metal on the piece. In this case, we recommend using products with a scouring powder to remove residue from cutlery use. Apply the scouring powder (either in powder or liquid form) to the piece that shows signs of scratching, wet a multi-purpose sponge, and gently rub it over the surface of the piece. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth. Our tip is that scouring powder may be more effective and easier for removing scratches. In a dishwasher, this removal is not possible, as direct contact with the piece is needed.
